NEW HAVEN, CT (April 1, 2021) – Community Action Agency of New Haven, Inc., Non-Profit and Social Service Agency in Greater New Haven, announces the publication of our 2020 Annual Report, which details the activities from October 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021. 

CAANH works to bridge gaps in social economic and generational wealth, provides basic needs, programs, and services, connects policymakers, community partners, and greater New Haven residents to areas that support pathways to prosperity. Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other. 

Building on over two decades of compassion, CAANH continues to make strides to eliminate poverty by helping people do the best they can. Providing ways to create generational wealth and opportunity has been the heart of the work we continue to do. CAANH has dedicated staff members who support the execution and the delivery of the mission of the organization, as well as dedicated board of directors representing diverse leaders from the Greater New Haven community. 

New Haven (CAANH) was established in 1978 and focuses on helping individuals and families with limited resources and complex issues by providing programs, services, case management and referrals. CAANH recognizes a key component of equity is ensuring that residents that are homelessness have direct access to affordable and accessible housing. Necessary supportive services directed to help individuals address other challenges and issues are what clients benefit from. 

CAANH continues to meet the needs of distinct populations in the community such as homeless individuals, single mothers/grandmothers, youth, mature adults, fathers, and families in need. Every client that comes through the door is connected to CAANH’s “No Wrong Door” approach. A process that allows the agency to assist clients where there is an expressed need and provide a wide range of resources to move individuals towards self-sufficiency and economic sustainability.
