Lan Chen


Accounting Manager


Lan Chen lives in Hamden with her husband and son. She is a lover of yoga and photography and she enjoys mixing family time with exercise and cooking.


As the Accounting Manager for CAANH, Lan provides full support for all the priorities and goals of the Finance Department; assisting the VP of Finance in maintaining an effective and efficient accounting system. Her responsibilities include analyzing financial data and supervising the preparation of internal and external financial reports for the Board of Directors and the government. Lan also supports all audit activity and works with program leaders on the annual budgeting and planning process.


Before joining CAANH, Lan worked at a national bank in China. Many years extensively working on financial research and data analysis has equipped her with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Lan is always passionate about community events. She has been working with Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA) program for many years. As an IRS-certificated volunteer and the site coordinator, Ms. Chen has assisted hundreds of individuals and families to file their tax returns and obtain special credits. Her volunteer experience also includes: Financial Coaching Ambassador, youth tutoring, and program coordinator.


She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and earned her Master’s in Accounting from Wayne State University in Michigan in 2013.
